The first of 86 young teachers have traveled all the way from the United
Kingdom to China on a one-year cultural exchange program. After a three-month
localized career training at the Shanghai University, they will be dispatched to
several big cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and give
English language lessons. About 20 teachers will stay here to serve in local
universities, primary and high schools during the year. The year-long event
is part of the overall Sino-UK teachers' exchange program. A strict incubation
project in the UK ensures that it brought here only the choice ones.
