Universities offer high scholarship
25/3/2004 14:52

If you get enrolled in the Shanghai University this year, you are likely to get up to 10,000 yuan (US$1,200) in scholarship.
As reported by the Shanghai Morning Post, Shanghai University decided to raise the maximum scholarship for the new school year 2004 from the previous 4,000 to 10,000 yuan.
Shanghai University is not the first in the city to take the bid.
Last year, Fudan University raised the first-class scholarship from 5,000 to 8,000 yuan.
"We promised to offer scholarship for freshmen in a bid to encourage competition among students," said a spokesman with Fudan University, adding that going to university can be free of charge if students can get good marks at studies.
