More than 20 percent of the job vacancies in Shanghai are specifically for university graduates this year, with monthly salaries from 1,000 to 2,500 yuan (US$120-US$301), according to a local headhunting website for professionals (www.83666.gov.cn/zhaopin/), the Shanghai Evening Post reported today.
Everyday the website displays more than 10,000 job vacancies for university graduates, accounting for more than 20 percent of the total jobs offered.
Local university graduates earn an average of between 1,000 and 2,500 yuan a month, while engineering technology graduates earn monthly salaries of 1,500 to 3,000 yuan, with the highest from 6,000 to 8,000 yuan, according to the website.
Twenty percent of the jobs for university graduates are related to sales and marketing, fields which require strong creativity and good communication skills. University graduates with great potential and energy can satisfy these job requirements after their professional training, said an industry analyst, adding that employers usually target university graduates as salespersons.
Strong organization skills, coordination and communication abilities are needed for those in marketing, engineering technology management, administration and manufacturing operations, the analyst added.
