Shanghai's first
standards for primary and secondary school headmasters have been drafted and
issued to local schools two weeks before the new autumn semester begins this
September, today's Shanghai Morning Post reported, citing officials with the
city's educational commission. It is aimed at disciplining the local
educators' responsibilities as well as improving the education service provided,
according to the commission. As regulated, moral training should dominate
education and the volume of homework should be reduced. Based on the draft
rules, district and county education commissions are required to enact more
detailed laws according to their specific needs and to ensure the implementation
within all local schools.
