Today, the new campus of the East China Normal University in Minghang District was officially opened.

Around 2,500 undergraduates of two grades in about 8 faculties such as Chinese, history, philosophy, and foreign language will live and study in this new environment. the Shanghai Night Post reported.

By the end of this October, the first phase of the "5+1" project for the new campus was completed. The first groups of students and staff have been moving in.

The remaining construction is still under way at the campus, which involves buildings for the Faculty of the Social Science & Humanities and the Graphic Arts & Literature Center.
