More than 240 students from 35 universities across Shanghai will head to their military camps during December 20-23 after passing the recruitment exams, today's Shanghai Morning Post reported.
The universities include Fudan, Tongji, East China Normal and Shanghai International Studies Institute.
This year, the soldier recruitment has opened to 35 local high education institutions, 25 up from the previous 10, in a bid to improve the quality of the military personnel.
Local students have responded actively to the recruitment, local schools said.
