With the Spring Festival peak travel period approaching, Shanghai Railway Station will give priority to out-of-town students returning to their hometowns, today's Youth Post reported.
According to the ticket office of the Shanghai Railway Station yesterday, from December 20 to 26, local universities, colleges and middle schools can purchase group railway tickets at the No.3 outlet of the Shanghai railway station ticket sales building.
Early this month, 51 of the 78 local schools held a ticket-booking meeting and are currently counting the numbers of tickets required.
According to the latest regulations of the Ministry of Railways, those purchasing student tickets must have a privilege card, said a spokesman with the ticket office of the Shanghai Railway Station.
As local students will have their winter vacation from around January 17, the peak period for booking railway tickets is likely to be the two weekends before and after the day, the spokesman said, adding that during the coming Spring Festival peal travel period, students will be given top priority.
