An 110,000-square meters Czech-style residence area will be built in
Xujing Town, Qingpu District in Shanghai's southwest, which adds to Shanghai's
fame as a multinational style architects exposition.
Tu Haiming, member
of the Shanghai People's Political Consultative Conference, signed contract with
chairman Czech National Architects Association and another five Czech architects
in Prague yesterday, relegating the art designing and scheming of the residence
to them.
Building of the residence is part of the Sino-Czech economic,
trade and culture exchange and cooperation project. Czech artists and architects
will take charge of the scheming and design work of the residence area.
Visiting SPPCC chairman Jia Yiren was present at yesterday's sign
ceremony in Prague. Construction of the Czech-style residence in Shanghai will
bridge the economic and culture relations between the two nations, Jiang said,
and will enhance their cooperation in business, culture, architecture and
arts.
