China's first test-drive track completed in Shanghai

Construction of China's first exclusive test-drive track completed
yesterday in Anting County, Shanghai, marking the completion of domestic
automobile research and production line.
Building of the 1.44 square
meters track cost Shanghai Volkswagen Group 1.2 billion yuan and five years
time. The ellipse size track is paved of various road surfaces for testing
performance of the cars. The track equals top class test-drive tracks in
construction technology, an official of VW said.
As test-drive is a
essential step in automobile research, design and manufacturing, completion of
the track ensure the basic facilities of auto-mobile production, and marks a
progress for domestic automobile industry development, according to official
from the Shanghai VW.
Shanghai government has planed to built Anting
County, where the test-drive track locates, into a international automobile
industry base consisting of automobile research institutes, factories and car
racing fields.
