A helicopter parking apron will be built on the top of a new building of
Huashan Hospital scheduled to complete construction by June next year, as part
of a move to improve the city's ability to react to the emergencies, the Labor
Post reported today. The Shanghai Municipal Government recently worked out a
plan to improve the local public sanitation system, establishing a
quick-reacting and highly-efficient public sanitation system from the year 2003
to 2005, according to a local sanitation work conference. According to the
plan, the city will establish a medical treatment system in three years to
improve the city and district-level isolation hospitals, medical treatment
institutes and other medical institutes for public emergencies. As part of
the plan, a new outpatient and emergency service building with the Huashan
Hospital, to start construction at the beginning of next year, will have a
helicopter parking apron on its top by June next year. The new parking apron,
together with a similar one on the top of a new building with the Changzheng
Hospital and a small airport with the Shanghai First People's Hospital's
Songjiang Branch will form a first-aid system in the
air.
