Shanghai Harbor to top 10 million

Shanghai Harbor is about to handle 10 million standard containers this
year, the Port Shanghai Group announced yesterday.
"The port is quite busy
this year. So far, it has been handling a daily export and import volume of more
than 30,000 standard containers," spokesman for the group said.
"If we keep
up with the record, it's very much likely that we'll fulfill our year-end goal
of 10 million."
If Shanghai Harbor manages the operation and reaches the
target, it will challenge Hong Kong and Singapore for the first time to become
the third largest port in the world.
