Xuhui District targets one-stop services
11/12/2003 15:16

In the coming two or three years, residents in Xuhui District are expected to handle their daily affairs and enjoy various services in only 15 minutes walking distance from their home, the Youth Post reported today.
The Xuhui District government plans to build itself into a modern community to offer one-stop services to residents.
An 8,000-square-meter community administrative center will be established near the Tianyaoqiao Road, providing complaint departments, judiciary intermediation, family planning, and household registration services.
A 1,200-plus-square-meter community cultural and sport center will be constructed on the Nandan Road, housing a community school, library, scientific and technological hall, cinema, gymnasium and entrainment center.
The original community security center will be rebuilt to cover a labor and social security office, business start-up center, social-assistance management office, welfare donation work station, housekeeping reception office and so on.
A nearly 3,000-square-meter community public sanitation center will be built on Guangyuan Road W.
The cadres in the neighborhood committees will also be trained to meet the growing demand of residents, said Gao Jie, director with the Xujiahui Sub-district Office. All the staff will be required to have computer certificates to offer high-efficiency service for residents, Gao added.
Some cadres currently have begun to receive computer training.
