Better metro service
18/12/2003 15:17

The Shanghai rail line transportation administration made public eight promises yesterday to ensure better metro service for commuters, the Shanghai Morning Post reported.
The promises were published in its soon-to-be-released "Rail Transportation Service Guide".
According to the guide, commuters are entitled to a full-fare refund if the train is delayed longer than fifteen minutes, or they don't take the train the same day they buy the tickets. Metro line workers must speak Putonghua, or the standard Chinese, at work.
The administration also set up five complaint hotlines for commuters: 962000 (to Shanghai Urban Transport Bureau), 64483666 (to Shanghai Rail Line Transportation Administration), 64370000 (for RT Line 1, 2 and 3), 64894847 (for RT Line 5) and 28907722 (for the magnetic-levitation train).
