Ground broken for new sewage plant

Construction started yesterday on the 600 million yuan sewage treatment
plant in Zhuyuan area on the Yangtze River.
The 30-hektar-plant is part
of the third phase of Shanghai's sewage treatment project. Funds from the World
Bank and domestic investor are put into its construction,
When completed
in 2005, the plant will dispose wastewater in Hongkou and Yangpu Ports. Water
quality after the treatment will reach the nation standard.
