Cuban Vice President Esteban Lazo welcomed back yesterday the Cuban baseball team, which won the bronze medal at the Youth Baseball World Cup in Edmonton, Canada.

Also at the international airport of Jose Marti in Havana to welcome the athletes are leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Government, the Unit of Communist Youngsters (UJC) and the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER).

Cuba won the bronze after defeating Australia 6-2, while South Korea kept the title winning 7-0 against the United States.

Team manager Esteban Lombillo said he was satisfied with his players in the World Cup as they overcame all the difficulties en route to reaping the medal.
