With her partner struggling with injury, Larissa announced yesterday that
her new partner for the rest of the season will be Vivian.
While Juliana will be sidelined for the rest of the year due to her knee
injury that occurred in July, Larissa is determined to keep playing at a
competitive level and win as many tournaments as possible. For this reason,
Vivian will be leaving her current partner, Barbara Seixas, in hopes of
producing wonderful results in the second half of the women's beach volleyball
circuit.
Vivian was voted the Brazilian National Circuit's rookie of the year in 2007.
The 28-year-old from Parana was thrilled with the invitation to play with
Larissa.
"I can't let this opportunity slip," she said. "Larissa is one of the best
players in the world. I have a lot to learn from her. I hope to pick up lots of
experience.
"We will play in the Brazilian National Circuit, as well as some tournaments
in the World Circuit. During the first half of the year, Juliana and Larissa won
the first six stages of the National Circuit. I hope that I will be able to help
her keep up the pace."
Vivian is momentarily putting on hold her partnership with Barbara Seixas.
The duo ended their teamwork after having won the challenger stage of Aracaju
in the National Circuit. The team beat Izabel and Chell 18-15, 18-15 yesterday.
