Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque has called Barcelona striker Bojan Krkic
into his squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Armenia and Bosnia
Herzegovina.
Del Bosque had selected the 18-year-old for his first squad as coach,
although the youngster failed to make his international debut against Denmark in
mid-August and was dropped from Del Bosque's second squad, named last Friday.
However, the hamstring strain suffered by Fernando Torres on Sunday has given
the youngster a second chance.
Torres pulled up midway through the first half of Liverpool's 0-0 draw away
to Aston Villa and will be out of action for around two weeks, causing Del
Bosque to promote Bojan from the Under-21 squad, which he had been training
with.
He will now compete with Dani Guiza and David Villa for a place in the
starting 11 and should he made his debut, it will also serve to end any
possibility of him playing for Serbia, where his father was
born.
