The National Association of Professional Soccer from Chile (ANFP) said
yesterday that the soccer national teams of Chile and South Africa will play two
friendly matches in February 2009 and March 2010.
"The professional soccer national teams of Chile and South Africa will face
each other in two friendly matches, after it is subscribed the contract between
both federations for these international games," ANFP said in a communique.
Regarding the date, the ANFP said that the matches will be played "the first
on Feb. 11, 2009 in South Africa and the second on March 3, 2010 in Chile."
The communique also said that South Africa took the compromise "to contend on
the Bicentenary Cup of women's soccer, during January 2010," where the women's
soccer national teams of Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Canada, Japan and
Chile will compete.
Chile is on the second place of the South American qualifying for the Soccer
World Cup South Africa 2010.
