The Egyptian soccer team advanced to the final phase of the qualifying
stage of the 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations after snatching a 4-0 home
victory over Djibouti yesterday.
In the 19th minute of the first half, Egyptian player Emad Meteb from Ahly
sports club ensured the opener for the Egyptian team.
Ahmed Hassan and Mohamed Aboutrika snatched other two goals in the second
half for the Pharaohs, the six-time African champions.
In addition, Riad Saied's own goal in stoppage time gave Egypt an easy 4-0
victory.
Egypt finished the second round of the qualifiers on top of Group L of
African zone with 15 points, followed by Malawi with 12points, who also reached
the next round as one of the best eight second-placed teams.
