British tennis star Andy Murray said yesterday that he is focusing
his efforts on the challenge presented by the 2008 Tennis Masters Cup, which
will be held in Shanghai.
"It is definitely my big goal at the moment," Murray told Xinhua.
Murray is currently in Madrid to play the Madrid Masters Series event. But he
told Xinhua that his energy is focused on the Tennis Masters Cup in Shanghai.
"I'm looking forward to it. That is what I am really preparing for at the
moment," he said.
Murray admitted that his preparation was totally focused on achieving success
in China.
"I took a few weeks off to give myself some extra time to prepare and now I
want to play a few matches so I can really get ready for it."
Ranked world's number 4, Murray is almost certain of qualifying among the
top-eight players in the world and he is aiming to improve on his last
performance in China.
He only made the second round of the Beijing Olympic Games and later admitted
he had not fully prepared for the event.
