The Czech team beat the German title defender to win the cycle-ball title
in the 2008 Indoor Cycling World Championships held in Dornbirn of west Austria
yesterday.
More than 10 teams, including Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Japan,
Switzerland, Croatia, France and Chinese Hong Kong, participated in the
cycle-ball competition, with Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic entering
the finals.
In the final round robin competition, Austria beat the Czechs 5-3, but were
beaten by Germany 5-3. The Czechs beat Germany 6-4.
The Czech Republic and Germany both scored nine goals with Austria eight. The
Czechs won the gold medal as it had beaten Germany in the finals.
