Brazilian forward Tulio Maravilha announced yesterday his plans of playing
through 2010.
Within two more years of playing as a professional, the 39-year-old veteran
hopes to score his 1000th career goal.
He currently has 861 goals and claims that he will not retire until he has
reached the mark set by greats such as Pele and Romario.
"I believe I can reach 1000 goal in two and a half years at the max. I plan
on scoring, on average, around 40 to 50 goals per season. Of course, I need to
stay healthy in order to chase after the 1000th goal," said the forward.
Tulio, who currently plays for second division club Vila Nova, does not rule
out a possible move to rival sides in search for more scoring
opportunities.
