Portuguese league team FC Oporto will play Russia's CSKA in Russian
capital Moscow today and Argentine manager Lucho Gonzalez told Portugal's media
yesterday he is preparing the team for the most extreme conditions. "Clearly
I would prefer to play in good conditions, but the climate is not a determining
factor, although the Russian players are more used to it," he said, adding that
Oporto had played in Bratislava under similar conditions. The players will
train on Monday in the Lokomotiv stadium, where they play Tuesday's
match. "It will be a touch match," the Argentine said. "But we will have a
thoroughly organized team and we must control the ball more to create goal
opportunities." The first leg of the Champion's League match, held in the
Oporto City Dragon Stadium was a 1-1 draw. "We were superior at home and we
created a lot of chances," Gonzalez said, adding that his team was hoping to put
on a similar show, with fast passes that allow Oporto to take advantage of holes
the opposition's defense.
