Dunga drafts Olympic national team

Brazil's national football team head coach Dunga announced yesterday the list
with 22 players for a game on December 9, which will serve as a test to draft
the team for the qualifying tournament for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The
squad will rely exclusively on athletes aged under 23, who will play a team
comprised of the players from the 2007 Brazilian soccer league. "It is up to
them to show their potential and that they are ready to wear the national team's
jersey," stressed Dunga. The roster includes: goalkeepers Felipe (Santos) and
Renan (Internacional); defenders Breno (Sao Paulo), Leandro Almeida
(Atletico-MG), Leo (Gremio) and Rodolpho (Atletico-PR); wingbacks Apodi
(Vitoria), Leonardo (Portuguesa), Nei (Atletico-PR) and Valmir (Palmeiras);
midfielders Charles (Cruzeiro), Maycon (Internacional), Ramires (Cruzeiro), Toro
(Flamengo), Diego Souza (Gremio), Pedro Ken (Coritiba), Thiago Neves
(Fluminense) and Wagner (Cruzeiro); strikers Alexandre Pato (Italy's Milan),
Diogo (Portuguesa), Keirrison (Coritiba) and Pedro Oldoni (Atletico-PR). The
Olympic national team will gather on Dec. 4 to participate in practices to be
held at the Joao Havelange Stadium.
