Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Bernd Schneider, who was an experienced
midfielder for German national football team, is to miss Euro 2008 in Austria
and Switzerland due to injury, it was revealed yesterday.
According to Leverkusen, a slipped disc has forced Schneider to undergo
surgery in Hanover earlier on Friday, the surgery was successful, but Schneider
will miss the last five Bundesliga matches.
Leverkusen announced that Schneider is expected to resume training in July,
which would definitely rule him out of the Euro 2008.
Schneider, nicknamed as "White Brazilian", has played just 15 Bundesliga
matches this season.
Schneider is one of the most experienced players in the German national
soccer team, having won 81 caps and scored four goals for Germany.
