Juventude nips Internacional 1-0

In the Alfredo Jaconi Stadium yesterday, Juventude beat Internacional
1-0.
The game was the first in the Rio Grande do Sul state championship. The
second and final game will take place next Sunday. In order for Internacional to
take the game into a penalty kick playoff, the team will need to win by a
difference of one goal.
Sunday's only goal came in the very last minute. In
the 47th minute of the second half, Maycon scored the winner for Juventude. The
goal in overtime gave the home team a reason to cheer and gave their fans hope
that next week they will be awarded the trophy as state champions.
For the
Cup of Brazil, Internacional has already guaranteed their presence in the
tournament.
Juventude is still fighting to secure their spot in the
tournament. The team will play in Caixas do Sul on Wednesday in an attempt to
better their record after having lost to Corinthians-AL
2-0.
