7/5/2008 16:12

Colombia's women's cycling team yesterday took the gold medal in the pursuit competition at Uruguay's Track and Route Pan American Cycling Championships.
Colombia's trio of Laura Lozano, Ana Bernal and Sandra Gomez timed four minutes and 4.585 seconds to complete the three kilometers in the track at Montevideo's Cycle Track.
The Argentine team, comprised of Valeria Pintos, Cristina Greve and Alejandra Allegro, won the silver medal, timing four minutes and 8.396 seconds.
The bronze medal was not awarded to any team since the Uruguayan team did not show and lost by default.
This event is being held from May 4-11 in Montevideo, Uruguay's capital, with the participation of 25 countries and some 250 athletes.
