First Open All Nepal table tennis tournament concludes

The first Open All Nepal Table Tennis Cash Prize Tournament concluded
yesterday, local newspaper The Rising Nepal reported today. Shiva Sundar
Gothe from Bhaktapur, a city to the east of Nepali capital Kathmandu, stunned
national junior champion Ajaya Suwal 4-2 to win the men's title in
Kathmandu. To have a surprising win over Suwal, Gothe lost the first and
third set 9-11 and 6-11 but took other remaining set by 11-5, 11-3, 15-13 and
13-11. Gothe bagged 15,000 Nepali rupees (around 217 USdollars) in first
prize. Similarly, Swechha Nemwang from Sunsari district in southern Nepal
clinched the women's single title surpassing national champion Muna Basukala 4-1
in the final. To take the title, Nemwang claimed the four sets 15-13, 11-7,
11-6, and 11-9 and gave away the second last set to Basukala 11-13. Nemwang was
awarded with cash prize of 12,000 rupees (around US$174). There were also
U-18 and U-12 categories of the tournament.
