First Open All Nepal table tennis tournament concludes

The first Open All Nepal Table Tennis Cash Prize Tournament concluded
yesterday, local newspaper The Rising Nepal reported today.

Gothe from Bhaktapur, a city to the east of Nepali capital Kathmandu, stunned
national junior champion Ajaya Suwal 4-2 to win the men's title in
Kathmandu.
To have a surprising win over Suwal, Gothe lost the first and
third set 9-11 and 6-11 but took other remaining set by 11-5, 11-3, 15-13 and
13-11. Gothe bagged 15,000 Nepali rupees (around 217 USdollars) in first
prize.
Similarly, Swechha Nemwang from Sunsari district in southern Nepal
clinched the women's single title surpassing national champion Muna Basukala 4-1
in the final.
To take the title, Nemwang claimed the four sets 15-13, 11-7,
11-6, and 11-9 and gave away the second last set to Basukala 11-13. Nemwang was
awarded with cash prize of 12,000 rupees (around US$174).
There were also
U-18 and U-12 categories of the tournament.
