Dutch Veeler clinches stage victory at Tour de Qinghai Lake
18/7/2008 17:50
Dutch Olympic rider Tom Veeler survived the seventh and the longest day of
the 2008 Tour de Qinghai Lake to claim his first stage victory yesterday. The
23-year-old contributed his first professional victory to the team's tactics,
the teamwork and a little bit luck. Veeler was impressed with the long stage.
"It was pretty fast. There were a lot of attacks; then, my legs were a little
sleepy because the whole day we rode at the same speed. It was quite hard, a lot
of up and down," he said.
