S Korean president encourages disabled athletes for Paralympics

South Korean President Lee Myung-bakon yesterday sent a letter to all South Korean athletes and officials scheduled to participate in the Beijing Paralympics set for Sept. 6- 17 to encourage the Paralympic players, the Presidential Office said.

"Paralympic athletes personally embody the lofty Olympic spiritby challenging the limits of mankind. I wish for you players to give courage and hope to the entire nation by doing your best at the Paralympics," said the president at the letter.

Lee said that he is deeply proud of the Paralympic players who have overcome their physical handicaps and other difficulties with infrangible moral strength.

Lee also delivered a monetary gift, along with his personal letter, to the South Korean Paralympic delegation, the Presidential Office said.
