Mexican sports will launch the National System of High Performance, a new
sports plan with the purpose of obtaining a better performance at the Olympic
Games in London 2012. Director of the National Committee of Physical Culture
and Sports, Carlos Hermosillo, presented yesterday the report of the Mexican
delegation at the 2008 Olympics and he said they will work mainly in the
training and hiring of best coaches in the world for some
disciplines. Together with President of the Mexican Olympic Committee Felipe
Munoz and Mission Chief Carlos Padilla, Hermosillo and general deputy of Quality
for Sports Jorge Camacho responded this way to President Felipe Calderon's
request of a restructuring of Mexican sports. "We have been working for eight
months to improve our sports for the purpose of London 2012 where we will have
the best results in the history of the Olympic Games," Hermosillo said in a
press conference. The plan presented by Hermosillo includes the creation of
the Mexican School of Sports Development, the consolidation of the Mexican
Institute of Sports Science and a review of the coaches' technical
abilities. "We will improve the efficiency of the athletes with the creation
of the Mexican Institute of Sports Science where researchers will help the high
performance athletes," Hermosillo said. Hermosillo also emphasized the
incorporation of foreign coaches in disciplines like boxing, march and archery
among other sports where Mexican athletes have qualities and historical
records.
