The Czech Republic will host the 2013 biathlon world championship in Nove
Mesto na Morave, middle of the country, the Czech news agency CTK said
yesterday.
Czech republic, first time to hold the event, won the vote at
a congress of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) in Prague.
Nove
Mesto na Morave sought the world championship two years ago, but its bid was
eventually short of four votes.
This time, the Czech biathlon
association at first ran for the 2012 championship, but this morning it narrowed
its candidature to the championship one year later.
In the vote Nove
Mesto defeated Norwegian Oslo and Finnish Kontiolahti, and won in the first
round.
The championship in 2012 will be held in Ruhpolding, Germany, the
IBU vote decided.
