22/9/2008 16:41

The hope of Sao Paulo to stay in the top four at the end of the Brasileiro Championship was kept alive yesterday after their tie.
With a scoreless tie against home team Sport, Sao Paulo remains just seven points behind the first-placed Gremio with 12 more games remaining.
Their focus is now on reaching the G-4 and qualifying for the 2009 Libertadores Cup.
"We cannot give up. We still have a good chance of winning the title. We need to believe it is possible. Our attitude has to be strong until the end," said team captain and goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni.
Team midfielder Wagner also voiced optimism about the chance of winning its third straight national championship.
"Today's objective was to win. However, with the tie, we pulled off one point and improved our chances. We cannot stop believing or stop our work ethic," added the player.
Adding to the difficult of Sao Paulo's goal is that they do not need only one team to lose. They need to root against Palmeiras, with 49 points, Cruzeiro, with 46 points, and Flamengo, with 43 points.
Sao Paulo currently has 43 points, however, they are behind Flamengo by one victory.
"It is certainly a tough situation. We have some good teams ahead of us. We can't just root for one team to lose and hope for the best results. Our job is now is to work hard and win all of our upcoming games," said head coach Muricy Ramalho.
