South Korea are to challenge Iran in the final of the under-16 Asian
soccer championship in Uzbekistan, according to Asian Football Confederation
(AFC). South Korea defeated Japan 2-1 on Wednesday, winning a final place.
The team scored 15 goals during the tournament that kicked off early this month
and will face Iran at Pakhtakor Stadium in Toshkent, the AFC said. Iran, the
four-time champions who have not lost a single match in the tournament, thrashed
the United Arab Emirates 3-0 earlier this week to advance to the final. South
Korea have lifted the title twice since 1986.
