Maria Elisa/Val win women's Brazilian beach volleyball tournament

Maria Elisa and Val beat Larissa and Vivian to win the Maceio stage of the
Brazilian women's beach volleyball circuit after triumphing at 18-14, 18-12
yesterday.
Larissa, who partnered Juliana to win seven stages of the
Brazilian Circuit of the season, had to form a new team with Vivian after her
long-time teammate was injured just days before the Olympic Games in
Beijing.
"I am ecstatic. We deserve to be where we are at right now. We have
been working so hard to achieve this result. Never before have we beaten Larissa
and finally we have. We are having a great season, even better than we had hoped
for. Our growth has been constant," said Maria Elisa.
