Dongguan better off defending champions Guangdong 112-102

Dongguan Marco Polo surprised yesterday the defending champions Guangdong Hongyuan 112-102 on the road to stay unbeaten after five rounds of the CBA league.
Michael Harris had 35 points and 19 rebounds to hand the arch-rivals Guangdong the first loss this season.
Dongguan vaulted to top the standings as the only team with a perfect record after Xinjiang Guanghui, which also coming into yesterday's game as an unbeaten team, losting 87-75 to Shannxi Yalv on the road.
After an even 57-57 first half, Dongguan broke off with a 19-4 run to lead 85-72 towards the end of the third quarter.
They extended the lead to 101-85 midway in the fourth quarter when Guangdong shot 8-out-of-35 from behind the arc to nail down the victory.
Zhu Fangyu, one of the best long-range shooters in China, led Guangdong with 34 points but shot 4-out-of-14 on 3-pointer.
Brandon Ronbinson scored 11 out of his 24 points in the fourth quarter to lead a 19-4 run at the start of the decisive period for Shannxi's win.
He also had 20 rebounds, half of which were offensive, and added five blocks in one of his most all-around game this season.
Teammate Zhang Wei had the game-high 28 points to give them thethird win of the season.
In other matches, Fujian SBS crushed Shanghai Sharks 109-101, Bayi Fubang thrashed Zhejiang Guangsha 113-88, Jiangsu Dragons edged off Beijing Ducks 105-98, Changchun Dacheng defeated Tianjin Ronggang 94-85, Shanxi Zhongyu stopped Shandong Gold 103-96, Liaoning Hunters overwhelmed Qingdao DoubleStars 110-92 while Zhejiang Cyclones beat the winless Yunnan Honghe 89-79.
