Panamanian Paralympic athlete awarded for tenacity and bravery

Panamanian government honored Paralympic athlete Said Gomez with the
Manuel Amador Guerrero Award for the tenacity and bravery he has shown in
sports. Gomez, a visually-impaired runner, and South African amputee swimmer
Natalie du Toit received the Whang Youn Dai Achievement Award during the Beijing
Paralympics, a special award for athletes who can best represent the Paralympic
spirit. Gomez has won three gold, four silver and one bronze medals from the
past four Paralympic Games.
