Japanese football club Gamba Osaka might sign contract with South Korean striker Cho Jae-jin, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported today.
Cho, 27, who plays for South Korea's football club of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, is a member of the national squad and competed in Japan for over three years until he returned home earlier this year.
Yonhap said Gamba Osaka has recently contacted the Hyundai Motors and requested Cho be allowed to move back to the Japanese league.
No details have been laid out because negotiations are still underway, an official of the Hundai Motors told Yonhap, adding that club will not object as long as sufficient compensation is promised.
Gambao Osaka is to sign contract with Cho as early as this week, Yonhap said.
