US soldier killed in bomb attack south of Baghdad

A bomb blast killed a US soldier and wounded another south of Baghdad on
Sunday, the military said Monday.
The attack took place at 10:40 p.m. (1840
GMT) on Sunday when an improvised explosive device detonated, the military said
in a statement without giving further details.
About 1,550 US soldiers have
been killed in Iraq since the US- led invasion in March 2003.
