24/4/2005 9:33

A suicide car bomb attack targeted a US military convoy near Baghdad airport yesterday, killing a civilian and wounding 25 others, a witness said.
"A suicide bomber drove a vehicle into a US military convoy and blew himself up," Sami Hadad told Xinhua.
He said the attack took place in the al-Atebaa neighborhood near the main road leading to Baghdad International Airport, setting a US Hamvee and two civilian cars ablaze.
"A civilian was killed in the blast and 25 others wounded," he said, adding it is unclear whether there is any US casualty.
He said that US troops immediately cordoned off the scene.
The US military had no comment on the incident.
The road leading to the airport is one of the most dangerous sections in Iraq.
