Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapakse arrived in Islamabad today on a
three-day official visit to Pakistan for talks to build the current
relationship, the state-run PTV reported. This is Rajapakse's second foreign
trip since coming to power in November 2005 and his first to Pakistan since he
assumed duties as president. During his visit, he will hold talks with
Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on
bilateral and important regional and internal issues, PTV reported. He will
also sign several agreements with Pakistan, addressing tourism, culture,
education and railways, according to PTV. Pakistan Foreign Office
spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said last week that the talks would cover the complete
range of bilateral relations between the two countries.
