Iran's justice minister killed in car accident

Iran's Justice Minister Jamal Karimi-Rad was killed in a car accident
yesterday in central part of the country, the semi-official Mehr news agency
reported. The car of Karimi-Rad, who also served as judiciary spokesman,
collided with a truck on the road between Saveh and Tafresh in central
Iran. Two other family members were also injured during the accident and have
been immediately rushed to hospital in the city of Qom. According to the
report, about 100,000 people have been killed in traffic accidents during the
past five years in Iran, a pretty high level considering the country's
population of 69 million.
