At least 26 killed in Mexico bus accident

At least 26 people were killed and 25 others injured yesterday when a
passenger bus plunged into a 200-meter-deep ravine in the southern Mexican state
of Oaxaca, authorities said. The driver lost control of his vehicle on the
Huautla-Acatepec road in the Mazteca region in Oaxaca, 350 km south of Mexico
City. At least 26 bodies have been recovered from the site and the 25
survivors have been taken to hospitals in Oaxaca for treatment, according to an
official from the state. The Mexico City-bound bus, which belonged to Fletes
y Pasajes company, was one of the four buses hired to carry people for
demonstration in the capital.
