An express train running between the Thai capital Bangkok and the northern
city Chiang Mai derailed in Thai northern province of Phrae last night,
according to Thai Traffic Radio channel.
The accident occurred at around 6 p.m. (1100 GMT). The train was about to
pull in to the station in Long district, Phrae province, when the last carriage
of the train suddenly derailed, the FM radio reported.
Authorities said it was a technical problem that caused the derailing.
Emergency workers was dispatched to the site but no casualties were reported.
The train resumed operation three hours later.
