Russia launches military satellite

A Soyuz-U booster blasted off from Russia's Plesetsk cosmodrome yesterday
with a military satellite, the Defense Ministry press service reported.
"The Soyuz-U rocket, which blasted off from the northern cosmodrome at 10:00
pm Moscow time (1800 GMT), puts into space aKosmos satellite in the interests of
the Defense Ministry," the press service said.
Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov watched the launch.
