Vietnam to sack heads of state agencies if wastefulness detected
21/6/2007 17:02
Under a recent decree, the heads of Vietnam's state agencies and
enterprises will be dismissed, warned or censured if wastefulness is found at
their organizations, local newspaper Youth reported today. Also under the
government decree, public servants who violate state regulations on thrift
practice and anti-wastefulness will be disciplined and have to make a
compensation of 5-50 million Vietnamese dong (313-US$3,125) for each
violation. The Vietnamese government has recently shown stronger
determination in overcoming and pushing back wastefulness and corruption by
issuing more regulations on the issue.
