Olmert says to start Palestinian statehood talks soon, but warns difficulties
27/11/2007 17:22

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said yesterday that the talks on Palestinian statehood would begin soon, but he also warned there were difficulties ahead.
"Certainly in a very short time we will have to sit down, and there will be more meetings between the teams on both sides," Olmert told reporters.
"We are entering a process that has infinite bumps in the road but we want to move forward," he said.
The visiting Israeli Prime Minister also urged the Palestinian side to stop attacks from the Gaza Strip if they want to implement a future peace deal.
"We do not differentiate between the West Bank and Gaza. Gaza is part of the Palestinian commitment to fight terror," Olmert said.
