One dies, 2 others infected on bird flu in Indonesia

One Indonesian boy died on avian influenza and two other adults are
infected by the virus, putting the total death to 99 out of 123 cases in
Indonesia, Indonesian health ministry said in Jakarta today. The 9 year-old
boy, 32 year-old man and 31 year-old woman, are from JAkarta and its outskirts
city, an official of the anti bird flu center of the ministry Suharda Ningrum
said. The boy from Depok town in outskirts city of Jakarta died on Sunday at
a bird-flu designed hospital of Sulianti Suroso in Jakarta, NIngrum said, adding
that it was not clear whether the boy had historical contact with fowl. The
official said, "the two patience infected by the disease all of their laboratory
tests positive of bird flu." Indonesia is one of the countries which has been
at the front row in fighting to combat the spreading of highly pathogenic H5N1
viruses.
