Seven people have been killed and four injured in landslides triggered by
torrential rains in a slum in Abidjan, economic capital of Cote d'Ivoire, local
medial reported yesterday.
The landslide happened overnight in the district of Cocody, eastern Abidjan.
The identities of the victims remain unknown, according to the reports.
Chales Koffi Diby, minister for economics and finance, had rushed to the site
where rescue work was under way.
Landslides in the city are a frequent occurrence during the Mayto July rainy
season.
