Prison director of Mexico shot dead

Director of a large state prison in Mexico, Salvador Barreno, and his
bodyguard were shot dead yesterday afternoon by a group of gunmen, police
said.
The killing occurred in the border city of Ciudad Juarez as the gunmen
ambushed Barreno, 66, who was on his way home from work, police said.
No
organizations or individuals have claimed responsibility for the murdering, but
the police blamed drug gangs for the killing.
